Position Details Part Time Program Assistant II (Auditing)
Liquor Commission, Enforcement & Licensing Division 50 Storrs Street, Concord, NH 03301
Balance: 28 hours per week
Salary: $19.96 per hour (Base pay range $19.96/hr – $19.96/hr)
Job Summary While following and implementing NH Liquor Commission rules and policies, reviews and audits Beverage Tax Program reports for completeness and proper reporting in accordance with NH Liquor Laws, administrative rules and Federal Alcohol regulations. Communicates with the licensee community both verbally and in written form.
Responsibilities
Act as an official representative of the agency in explaining, problem solving, using creative licensing with regards to Title XIII laws, administrative rules and procedures and be able to articulate and express solutions to all agency employees, administrative personnel, licensees, and the citizens of the state.
Provide guidance, information, explanation, problem-solving, and resolution with regards to the State of New Hampshire Alcohol, Beverage, and Tobacco (Title XIII) laws, administrative rules and procedures to agency employees, administrative personnel, licensees, and the citizens of the state.
Conduct reviews and audits of monthly Beverage Tax Reports to verify no discrepancies and confirm compliance with the rules.
Assist wholesalers, beverage vendors, and manufacturer licensees to ensure completion of forms for accurate filings and evaluate forms for proper filing, verifying proper receipt of funds.
Provide exceptional customer service while assisting licensing with state liquor laws, overdue payments, monthly reporting, compliance, and rules in person, in writing, and over the telephone in a clear and concise manner.
Maintain inventory of samples received for product approval by following product receipt procedures, labeling processes, and maintaining the Division’s product sample directory.
Minimum Qualifications
Associate's degree and 1 year of experience OR equivalent combination of 3 years of education and experience after completion of high school.
Education and experience must be in accounting or auditing work with the responsibility of providing program information to others.
Valid Driver’s License or access to transportation.
Willingness to maintain appearance appropriate to assigned duties and responsibilities as determined by the agency appointing authority.
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of accounting and auditing principles and methods.
Ability to perform mathematical computations appropriate to the job assigned.
Ability to prepare comprehensive, documented audit reports.
Ability to learn appropriate N.H. Title XIII laws and regulations as well as Federal Alcohol laws and regulations.
Ability to discuss Liquor laws with direct shippers, their representatives, or with employees.
Ability to write business letters and make necessary telephone contacts.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with direct shippers, other employees and the general public.
Ability to work out controversial matters in a tactful manner.
