Assistant Professor of Exercise Science – School of Health Sciences Liberty University’s mission is to train champions for Christ. As an Assistant Professor in the School of Health Sciences, Allied Health Professions Department, you will teach undergraduate and graduate courses in Exercise Science, mentor students in research, participate in academic advising, program development, and committee assignments.

All faculty model a personal commitment to the university’s goals and values, engage in a biblically‑informed Christian worldview, and strive to create a respectful learning environment. Faculty are expected to maintain academic integrity, develop curriculum for residential and distance education, and conduct scholarship or creative activity aligned with the university’s expectations.

Job‑Specific Details Contract length: 10, 11, or 12 months (30, 33, or 36 load hours respectively). Release from teaching load is determined by the Dean per the Faculty Handbook.

Responsibilities

Teach undergraduate and graduate level courses in Exercise Science.

Develop and deliver curriculum in residential and distance education settings.

Supervise and mentor undergraduate research projects.

Participate in academic advising, program development, and institutional committee assignments.

Engage in scholarship or creative activity as required by the College.

Model the university’s commitment to evangelical standards and Christian values.

Qualifications

Doctoral degree (Ph.D., DPT) in Exercise Science or a related field.

Experience teaching a variety of introductory and upper‑level courses in Exercise Science or related disciplines.

Advanced training beyond the Ph.D. (e.g., postdoctoral work, industry experience) is preferred.

Demonstrated ability to supervise and mentor undergraduate student research.

Strong collaborative skills and collegiality.

Commitment to the evangelical standards and mission of Liberty University.

Preferred: terminal master’s degree or professional certificate if doctoral degree not held.
