Senior Estimator – Heavy Civil, Northeast
Full‑time position at a well‑established civil construction firm specializing in complex, large‑scale projects in urban and waterfront environments.
Base pay range:
$150,000 – $175,000 per year.
Key Responsibilities
Estimating & Cost Analysis
Prepare detailed cost estimates for site work and civil construction projects ranging from $1 M to $50 M+.
Analyze project plans, specifications, and geotechnical reports to identify scope, risks, and opportunities.
Perform quantity take‑offs and pricing for labor, equipment, materials, and subcontractor services.
Bid Management
Develop comprehensive bid proposals and ensure compliance with client requirements.
Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to validate cost assumptions.
Participate in pre‑bid meetings and client presentations.
Market & Risk Analysis
Maintain current knowledge of industry pricing, market trends, and regulatory changes.
Identify potential cost‑saving strategies and value engineering opportunities.
Collaboration & Leadership
Mentor junior estimators and contribute to continuous improvement of estimating processes.
Work closely with business development teams to support strategic pursuits.
Qualifications
Minimum 7–10 years of estimating experience in civil construction.
Strong understanding of earthwork, site development, and related regulations.
Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., HeavyBid, B2W) and Microsoft Office Suite.
Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred.
