Area Sales Director Dermatology – Northeast
This role plays a critical role in creating and executing business strategies across the Dermatology product portfolio to exceed sales expectations at a national level. As a second‑line leader, you will collaborate and lead through District Managers to ensure area sales performance meets or surpasses company objectives.
You will take ownership of implementing company priorities, maximizing sales results, and building a new field sales organization for Dermatology. Additionally, you will act as a strategic thought partner throughout the brand planning process, providing expertise in budget planning, competitive analysis, targeting, and messaging.
How you will contribute
Lead the development and execution of business strategies to deliver or exceed sales expectations at an area and national level.
Recruit, hire, and coach a team of District Managers and support them in recruiting high‑performing sales professionals.
Develop an inspiring vision and create a high‑performance culture that values results, accountability, and continued development.
Create an environment of learning and growth, building capabilities and development opportunities with HR and Learning & Development.
Provide consistent, measurable performance feedback, coaching and development plans.
Serve as a leader, coach, and mentor across cross‑functional teams to foster internal talent development.
Establish relationships with industry professionals, key customers, and accounts.
Manage the area budget, prioritize resources, and build business cases for investment.
Collaborate with cross‑functional teams (Marketing, Access, Analytics, etc.) and align on strategies.
Partner with Learning & Development for leadership and clinical training.
Provide expertise on performance objectives, incentive compensation plans, and award plans.
Advise senior leadership on marketplace trends and competitive information.
Maintain highest professional standards, ensuring compliance and ethical behavior.
Minimum Requirements / Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree – BS/BA required.
10 years of sales and marketing experience in the pharmaceutical industry, with at least 5 years of management level experience in pharma, immunology, biologic/biotech, or medical device industries.
5+ years of people management with demonstrated success in achieving sales targets.
Preferred Qualifications
2+ years managing first‑line leaders.
Experience in dermatology.
Relevant clinical or cross‑functional experience in training, marketing, sales force effectiveness, commercial operations.
Adept at leveraging emerging technologies, digital tools, and AI‑enabled processes.
Licenses / Certifications
Valid Driver’s License.
Travel Requirements
Frequent travel to customer sites, including overnight stays.
Attend sales meetings at off‑site locations.
Base Salary $174,500.00 – $274,230.00 per year.
Location USA – MA – Virtual. Additional locations: USA – CT – Virtual, USA – NJ – Virtual, USA – NY – Virtual, USA – PA – Virtual.
