Base Pay Range $174,500.00/yr - $274,230.00/yr

Job Description The Area Sales Director plays a critical role in creating and executing business strategies across the Dermatology product portfolio aimed at exceeding sales expectations at a national level. As a second‑line leader, this position involves collaborating and leading through District Managers (first‑line leaders) to ensure area sales performance meets or surpasses company objectives.

The Area Sales Director will be responsible for building a new field sales organization for Dermatology, acting as a strategic thought partner throughout the brand planning process, offering expertise in budget planning, competitive analysis, targeting, and messaging, and leading business reviews to identify key opportunities and challenges.

How you will contribute

Lead the development and execution of business strategies to deliver or exceed sales expectations at an Area and National level.

Recruit, hire and coach District Managers and support them in recruiting high‑performing sales professionals.

Develop an inspiring vision, create a high‑performance culture and team environment, drive a solution‑oriented mindset, and focus on immediate results.

Build capabilities and learning opportunities in partnership with HR and Commercial Learning & Development.

Provide consistent performance management, measurable outcomes, and timely feedback.

Serve as a coach and mentor across cross‑functional teams, fostering internal talent development.

Establish relationships with industry professionals, key customers and accounts.

Manage the area budget, build business cases, and collaborate with Sales and Marketing leadership.

Lead within a cross‑functional environment and ensure teamwork and accountability.

Partner with Commercial Learning & Development for leadership, selling skills and clinical training.

Provide expertise on performance objectives and incentive compensation plans.

Advise senior leadership on marketplace trends and competitive information.

Ensure compliance with policies, foster a culture of ethical behavior, and act swiftly to resolve issues.

Minimum Requirements / Qualifications – Required

Bachelor’s degree – BS/BA required.

10 years of sales and marketing experience in the pharmaceutical industry, with a minimum of 5 years of management level experience in pharmaceutical, immunology, biologic/biotech, or medical device industries (including district, account, marketing, or product management).

5+ years of people management with demonstrated success in achieving sales targets through leadership and strategic planning.

Preferred Qualifications

2+ years of experience managing first line leaders.

Experience in dermatology.

Relevant clinical experience or cross‑functional experience from training and development, marketing, sales force effectiveness, commercial operations, or related functions.

Adept at leveraging emerging technologies, digital tools, and openness to AI‑enabled processes.

Licenses / Certifications

Valid Driver's License.

Travel Requirements

Frequent travel to customer sites, including overnight stays.

Ability to attend sales meetings at off‑site locations.

Compensation and Benefits Summary We are committed to equitable pay and wage transparency. U.S. base salary range: $174,500.00 – $274,230.00.
