About the Role The Manager, Government Affairs plays a critical role in shaping and advancing the organization’s public policy objectives by engaging with government officials, regulatory agencies, and key stakeholders. Responsibilities include monitoring legislative and regulatory developments, analyzing impact, developing strategic responses, building relationships with policymakers, and advocating on behalf of the organization. The Manager will lead efforts to communicate positions persuasively, align initiatives with corporate strategy, and secure a competitive advantage through proactive engagement.

Monitor and analyze federal, state, and local legislative and regulatory activities relevant to the organization’s interests.

Develop and implement government affairs strategies supporting business objectives and compliance requirements.

Build and maintain relationships with elected officials, government agencies, industry associations, and other stakeholders.

Prepare briefing materials, position papers, and testimony to communicate policy positions.

Coordinate with internal teams to align government affairs initiatives with corporate strategy and operational priorities.

Represent the organization at public hearings, industry forums, and coalition meetings to advocate for favorable outcomes.

Track and report on government affairs activities and their impact to senior leadership and relevant departments.

Necessary Skills and Abilities

Proficiency with Quality System applications (e.g., eDMS, QMS).

Dedicated team player who can thrive in a fast‑paced environment.

Results‑driven, problem‑solving, and collaborative with excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Excellent planning and time‑management skills; ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Comfortable working independently with minimal supervision.

Ability to travel up to 20% of the time.

Capability to provide clear direction while motivating teams and setting high standards.

Educational Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Political Science, Public Policy, Law, or a related field.

Experience Requirements

At least 5 years of experience in government affairs, public policy, or legislative advocacy.

Demonstrated knowledge of legislative and regulatory processes at multiple levels of government.

Preferred

Master’s degree in Public Administration, Public Policy, Law, or a related discipline.

Experience working within or closely with the private sector in a regulated industry.

Familiarity with lobbying compliance and ethics regulations.

Established network of contacts within government agencies and legislative bodies.

Proficiency in data analysis and policy impact assessment tools.
