Sr. Buyer/Planner

What You’ll Do
Analyze business unit requirements for the purchase of assigned inventory using planning tools, backorder reports, and forecasts to maintain inventory levels.
Serve as the primary liaison between the supplier and the organization.
Collaborate with production and other internal stakeholders for inventory management.
Manage allocation of product to customer work orders based on business priorities.
Manage OEM supplier relationships for day‑to‑day business, including leading status meetings.
Coordinate transfers of inventory and/or supplies between facilities to maintain appropriate stock levels.
Obtain and review quotes through informal processes, from informal RFQs to full tendering and evaluation.
Ensure the quality requirements of the business in procurement activities are met.
Manage supplier approval process in line with AS9110 requirements.
Follow up with suppliers to resolve delivery, quality, or pricing/invoicing issues.
Communicate product delivery issues quickly across all levels of the organization.
Maintain item master data integrity (product categories, inventory strategy, min/max management).
Analyze supply chain performance reports (overall stock levels, inventory turns, aged inventory, due date compliance, shortages, cost savings opportunities).
Contract Negotiation
Assist the corporate supply chain team as needed in support of and obtaining agreement from key stakeholders for supply chain contract implementation.
Continuously strive to lower material costs, improve supplier quality and delivery, and optimize the supplier base through supplier rationalization projects.
General
Understand and comply with supplier sourcing and approval policies and procedures; interface with suppliers, staff, and management to obtain appropriate documentation and approvals.
Possess general business acumen and knowledge of contract law as it pertains to purchasing/supply chain.
Have working knowledge of AS9110 policies and procedures.
Interface with stakeholders to resolve procurement discrepancies.
Manage supplier warranty processes for goods or services requiring rework, replacement or credit.
Observe all applicable safety requirements and report unsafe practices/conditions.
Focus on risk management, continuous improvement, and AS9110 compliance.
Identify and execute strategies to improve operational efficiency, reduce waste, and streamline processes for optimal performance.
Carry out other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements
Associate’s degree; preference given to post‑secondary education in Business Administration, Finance, or Supply Chain.
5 to 7 years’ prior procurement experience; knowledge of sourcing, tendering, supplier relationship management, and contract negotiation.
1+ years of experience with computer software, including Microsoft Office with a focus on Excel data analysis.
Ability to work in an open area workspace.
Preferred Characteristics
Good analytical, organizational, interpersonal, decision‑making, conflict‑resolution, oral and written communication skills.
Prioritize tasks effectively in a fast‑paced environment with frequently changing responsibilities, ensuring quality and deadlines.
Experience in an aviation environment is an asset.
Experience working in an MRO environment is an asset.
