Divergent is a technology company that has architected, invented, built, and commercialized an end-to-end factory system called the Divergent Adaptive Production System (DAPS) that comprehensively uses machine learning to optimally engineer, additively manufacture, and flexibly assemble complex integrated vehicle structures and subsystems. Products created using DAPS are superior in performance, lower in cost, rapidly customizable to meet mission and customer-specific requirements, faster to market, and scalable on demand to high volume production. Divergent is a qualified Tier 1 supplier to global automotive OEMs, and Divergent is now expanding to support mission critical needs in the Aerospace and Defense sector. Join us to be a part of this transformative journey, where your impact will shape the future of technology and production.

Purpose We are seeking a dynamic Additive Fleet Manager to lead the management and optimization of our additive manufacturing fleet. In this role, you'll play a critical part in ensuring the effective development of our additive production capabilities, driving continuous improvement, and scaling our operations to meet growing demands. The ideal candidate is an excellent leader with a strong background in productionizing new technology, asset management, and driving change.

The Role Fleet Performance Management

Monitor and analyze fleet performance metrics to detect trends, degradations, or opportunities for improvement, and consolidate observations into actionable feedback for development teams.

Serve as a bridge between additive production and hardware engineering, materials science, software engineering, facilities, and quality, translating field issues into clear requirements for engineering teams.

Champion continuous improvement across the fleet by identifying bottlenecks, reliability risks, and throughput opportunities, and facilitating the right team's engagement to resolve them.

Asset Planning & Capacity Forecasting

Partner with planning and operations teams to forecast print capacity based on program requirements, parameter sets, machine performance, and labor availability.

Model fleet throughput, identify constraints, and recommend fleet expansion, redistribution, or process modifications to optimize capacity.

Manage build queue strategy and major maintenance windows to optimize uptime, minimize idle time, and ensure readiness for priority builds.

Oversee acceptance testing, commissioning, and qualification of new machines, subsystems, and process upgrades transitioning from development into production.

Manage configuration control of fleet hardware and software, planning and coordinating upgrades or retrofits with minimal disruption to operations.

Maintain a comprehensive configuration history for each machine, including hardware revisions, software/firmware versions, parameter sets, and calibration records.

Data, Software Systems & Analytics

Develop and maintain machine logs, telemetry pipelines, and fleet-level performance dashboards to improve visibility into fleet performance.

Collaborate with software teams to expand telemetry, integrate predictive maintenance signals and improve MES integration.

Drive the use of automated reporting, alarms, and analytics tools to identify early signs of drift or failure.

Strategic Planning & Enterprise-Level Scaling

Contribute to long-term fleet scaling plans, including factory layout, utilities, powder handling, automation integration, and supporting infrastructure.

Benchmark fleet performance against internal targets, industry standards, and competitor technologies to inform future factory architecture and automation strategies.

Provide input to multi-factory strategic planning as additive materials, part families, and production volumes grow in scale and complexity.

Operational Governance & Continuous Improvement

Establish and enforce fleet-wide standardization of best practices for machine operation, calibration, preventative maintenance, and quality control.

Identify opportunities to reduce cost-per-build, improve consumable lifecycle, increase throughput, and enhance overall fleet reliability.

Mentor supervisors and engineers in effective fleet operation and issue escalation to promote a culture of continuous improvement.

Basic Qualifications

Ability to lawfully access information and technology that is subject to US export controls

Proven experience in developing manufacturing fleets or similar complex manufacturing or operational management roles.

Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and operations.

Knowledgeable on asset management, maintenance planning, and configuration control.

Effective analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and drive informed decision-making.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., mechanical engineering, manufacturing engineering, industrial engineering) or equivalent practical expertise.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with additive manufacturing processes, including Powder Bed Fusion and associated post-processing technologies.

Experience with aerospace quality standards (AS9100, NADCAP).

Knowledge of AI-driven manufacturing optimization and digital twin technology.

Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), Manufacturing Execution System (MES) and other relevant software systems.

Familiarity with digital manufacturing principles and technologies, such as IoT sensors and predictive maintenance.
