Shipping & Receiving Assistant Supervisor – 2nd Shift – Racine
Join OSI Group in Racine as a Shipping & Receiving Assistant Supervisor. Lead the team to maintain accurate product movement and ensure effective communication with customers, carriers, and internal stakeholders.
Responsibilities
Oversee product shipping and receiving to ensure correct pack dates and order accuracy.
Determine order staging locations and schedules.
Maintain accurate inbound and outbound counts.
Provide support across all areas when staff are absent.
Make operational decisions for both departments during shifts.
Assist with inventory counts of finished products.
Coordinate daily with supervisors across Shipping and Receiving on overall plans.
Communicate with customers and carriers regarding any issues.
Utilize SAP system in both departments.
Loading
Retrieve pallets, record details, wrap, and relocate to freezer.
Pre‑pick partial loads, move pallets, inspect for damage, and record new location on the shipping load sheet.
Inform drivers of temperature and cleanliness standards prior to loading.
Inspect trailer for proper temperature and cleanliness.
Transfer pallets from freezer to loading dock for verification and recording.
Seal trailers on all full loads.
Unloading
Inspect and break trailer seals on incoming raw materials.
Unloaded shipment onto dock, compare packing slip to shipment, and record results.
Take temperature, weight and inspect appearance of raw meat shipments.
Record location of materials.
Generate receiving reports with comprehensive details (net weight, tare weight, codes, temperature, gross weight, establishment, PO#, description, slaughter date, packing info, etc.).
Miscellaneous
Complete forklift maintenance checklist: oil, leaks, horn, hydraulic function.
Recharge forklift battery at shift end.
Weigh, record, and dispose inedible product onto collection truck.
Audit inventory as required.
Maintain clean workspace.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Experience & Skills
Basic computer competency.
Knowledge of SAP.
Minimum one year of on‑job experience with demonstrated understanding of process flow, quality, efficiency, safety, and organization in a related department.
Education
High school diploma or equivalent (associate degree or trade certificate preferred).
Work Environment
Manufacturing environment with variable temperatures.
Requires proper PPE and ability to work with heavy equipment.
Standard office equipment available.
Must comply with safety and quality standards.
