Assistant/Associate/Full Professor of Surgery – Plastic Hand Surgeon University of California, San Francisco

Position Description The Department of Surgery, Division of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the University of California, San Francisco is seeking a full‑time academic plastic and reconstructive hand surgeon with an exemplary record of patient care and expertise. Candidates must be board certified or board eligible by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and must have completed or be scheduled to complete Fellowship training in hand surgery by the time of hire.

Responsibilities Primary clinical responsibilities will be at UCSF Health locations including Parnassus, Mission Bay, and Mt. Zion campuses. Clinical activity will include elective and traumatic hand and wrist surgery in addition to general reconstructive plastic surgery. The candidate will also support call responsibility at Zuckerberg San Francisco General (ZSFG) Hospital, a Level I Trauma Center in addition to the UCSF Health locations.

Candidates must have recognized skills in the education of surgery residents and medical students and will be expected to be active participants in the Department’s residency training and educational programs. UCSF seeks candidates whose experience, teaching, research, and community service have prepared them to contribute to our commitment to excellence.

Qualifications • Board certified or board eligible by the American Board of Plastic Surgery.

• Completed or slated to complete fellowship training in hand surgery by hire.

• Demonstrated excellence in patient care, teaching, and research within the field of plastic and reconstructive hand surgery.

• Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary academic environment.
