About the Role As a Department Manager, you’ll be the leader supporting and encouraging your whole team. By bringing everyone together, you’ll create an inclusive culture that promotes collaboration and an entrepreneurial spirit, helping your team and H&M succeed. You will ensure an excellent operational and visual experience for the store, customers, and colleagues, while staying aware of the store’s strengths, opportunities, and competitors. You will analyze sales, follow up on results, and create plans to optimize profits.

A Day in the Life Customer Sales & Profit

Responsible for the total OMNI customer experience, ensuring visual and commercial curation according to global guidelines.

Represent yourself and the H&M brand positively during customer interactions.

Identify and act on your department’s strengths and commercial opportunities.

Establish and analyze sales and budget goals, creating plans to optimize results.

Ensure customer service is provided in all areas of the store and that your team actively promotes and sells products.

Promote the Customer Loyalty App (Hello Member) and in‑store sustainability initiatives.

Manage the department in a cost‑efficient way.

Ensure correct fitting‑room and checkout routines, including transactions, returns, and exchanges.

Handle all administrative routines for people and operations accurately.

Fashion & Trend Awareness

Stay up‑to‑date with fashion trends, styles, brands, products, competitors, and relevant influencers.

Provide product and fashion knowledge during customer interactions.

Team & Development

Recruit, onboard, manage performance, and upskill your team in store.

Complete performance evaluations and succession planning.

Share your knowledge and skills with the team.

Collaborate, plan, and work with the in‑store Visual Merchandiser team.

Give and receive feedback to support each other’s development.

Plan and schedule the team’s activities.

Communicate regularly with store colleagues to inform, motivate, and inspire.

Ensure all procedures, routines, and legal requirements in all store areas are followed.

Participate in onboarding and training processes relevant to your role.

Retail Operations/Visual & Commercial Execution

Maintain a clean, tidy sales floor and back‑of‑house areas.

Ensure high‑fashion quality visual and commercial product presentation.

Maintain good stock levels and provide input on allocation to the area team.

Adhere to garment‑cycle standards and fitting‑room routines.

Follow best practice for in‑store OMNI services and technology.

Maintain price signs in compliance with global and local strategies.

Update and uphold back‑of‑house areas for all colleagues.

Be responsible for daily opening and closing of the store.

Additional Information Compensation: Expected base salary range is $26.22 – $30.94 hourly. EEOC Code: SLS. Pay Status: Non‑Exempt, Hourly.
