Job Overview Jacobs challenges today to reinvent tomorrow by solving critical problems for cities, environments, mission‑critical outcomes, and more. We are looking for an Instrumentation and Controls Engineer who will work on projects enabling the heart of our clients’ business, including state‑of‑the‑art industrial and commercial facilities.
Key Responsibilities
Accountable for the schedule and technical quality of challenging engineering tasks.
Provide on‑site assistance during startup and coordinate work activities with other staff and the discipline lead.
Design and optimize control systems for a variety of processes, working closely with architects, engineers, and designers to deliver complete, world‑class solutions.
Develop P&IDs, size valves, specify instrumentation, and document and model design information while ensuring compliance with building codes and industry standards.
Produce control system designs for various processes and develop options and optimizations for all aspects of process control, instrumentation, and automation.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Control Systems, or Electrical Engineering.
At least 2 years of experience working with Instrumentation and Control.
Preferred Qualifications
Working knowledge of DDC, PLC, DCS, and other control applications.
Experience working with Data Centers.
Engineer in Training (EIT) designation.
Strong communication, analytical, and problem‑solving skills.
Forward thinking, eager to learn best practices, and contribute innovative ideas.
Ability to learn quickly and collaborate effectively in multi‑disciplinary teams.
Passion for buildings and construction.
