Work Schedule Wednesday – Saturday, 6 AM – 4:30 PM (40 hours per week)

Job Summary Responsible for the installation, maintenance, removal, and extension of plumbing systems, including sanitary drainage, storm drainage, waste systems, venting, and water supply. Knowledge of chilled water supply and returns is required.

Essential Functions

Install and repair plumbing throughout the campus, including piping, valves, faucets, fixtures, and drains.

Perform functions of a gas fitter, steamfitter, and sprinkler fitter as needed.

Maintain wastewater treatment systems.

Assemble and install plumbing materials such as iron, steel, glass, copper, and plastic.

Respond to emergency and trouble calls across the hospital.

Soft weld, solder, silver solder, and caulk joints.

Install and maintain oxygen, vacuum, and air systems.

Qualifications Education Trade/Technical/Vocational Diploma in Plumbing (preferred). No experience in lieu of a degree.

Licenses and Credentials

Journeyman Plumber [State License] – Generic

Master Plumber [State License] – Generic (HR Only preferred)

ASSE 6010 Installer Certified (NITC) – national inspection testing (preferred)

ASME IX Brazer Certification / Medical Gas Brazer – national inspection (preferred)

Wastewater Treatment Operator (Massachusetts) – Board of Certification (preferred)

Personal Driver's License (New Hampshire) – New Hampshire Division of Motor Vehicles (preferred)

Experience Completion of a three‑year apprenticeship program in plumbing plus one to two years of formal training; 2–3 years of experience required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Ability to read and follow blueprints.

Knowledge of Massachusetts plumbing codes.

Physical strength to carry tools and equipment and walk throughout the hospital.

Willingly work overtime occasionally; provide own hand tools.

Occasionally (less than 15 % of the time) lift over 70 lbs.

Compensation $31.35 – $46.91 / hour
