The
MRI Technologist
performs Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) examinations according to physician orders using advanced MRI equipment. This role requires strong clinical judgment, technical proficiency, and sensitivity to patient needs to ensure high‑quality imaging and optimal patient care.
Key Responsibilities
Perform MRI procedures in accordance with physician orders and departmental protocols.
Utilize advanced MRI technology to produce high‑quality diagnostic images.
Apply critical thinking to adjust imaging techniques based on patient condition and special needs.
Ensure patient safety, comfort, and proper positioning while maintaining high professional standards.
Evaluate image quality and document relevant clinical details.
Collaborate with radiologists and clinical teams to ensure timely and accurate diagnostic imaging.
Maintain and operate MRI equipment, reporting any technical issues to appropriate personnel.
Adhere to hospital policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
Required Qualifications
Education: Sufficient to meet certification/licensure requirements.
Licensure (upon hire):
Oregon Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologist License OR
Oregon MRI Technologist Temporary License
Certification (upon hire):
BLS - American Heart Association
National Certification (within 6 months):
ARRT MRI Certification OR
ARMRIT - Certified MRI Technologist
For New Graduates:
Must hold an OBMI temporary license and obtain permanent licensure within 6 months.
