The University of Miami is seeking a per‑diem
Paramedic Instructor 2
to support advanced education and simulation for emergency medical services trainees. The instructor will provide didactic and psychomotor instruction, assess learner performance, and contribute to curriculum development and evaluation. Responsibilities
Provide didactic instruction and psychomotor skills training to a diverse population of learners. Administer written tests and skills performance evaluations of students in the Paramedic Education and Division (PETD) course. Offer remedial tutoring to learners with identified deficiencies in performance of course requirements. Contribute to the development of objective criteria for skills performance evaluation. Participate in testing and analysis of educational tools utilized in PETD courses. Maintain current knowledge of the latest evidence for the subject matters being taught. Assist with the compilation of educational research data. Evaluate and contribute to the revision, editing, and updating of PETD courses, ensuring all materials meet current guidelines and standards established by appropriate agencies. Assist with the training and preparation of standardized patients (actors) incorporated into course instruction. Serve as course coordinator for on‑site courses by managing time, overseeing instructors, and ensuring course goals and objectives are met. Assist with equipment and supply inventory maintenance. Participate in efforts to recruit qualified new adjunct and PETD instructors. Participate in presentations to a variety of community, political, and medical audiences. Promote positive communications about the center and its programs and contribute to the center’s responsiveness to constituent agency educational needs. Adhere to University and unit‑level policies and procedures and safeguard University assets. Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent. Minimum 5 years of experience. Paramedic license. Skill in completing assignments accurately and with attention to detail. Ability to analyze, organize and prioritize work under pressure while meeting deadlines. Ability to process and handle confidential information with discretion. Ability to work evenings, nights, and weekends as necessary. Commitment to the University’s core values. Ability to work independently and/or in a collaborative environment. Benefits
