iVision Consulting is seeking a Payroll Specialist in support of our client. This position is responsible for processing payroll accurately and on time, including calculating wages, managing deductions, and handling tax withholdings.

This position is required to be onsite at the client offices in downtown Annapolis.

What You Will Do

Process payroll:

Collect and verify timesheets, calculate wages for regular hours, overtime, and bonuses, and process payments via direct deposit or checks.

Manage deductions and withholdings:

Calculate and manage deductions for taxes, benefits, retirement plans, and other withholdings.

Ensure compliance:

Stay up-to-date with and ensure all payroll practices comply with federal, state, and local laws and regulations.

Maintain records:

Create and maintain accurate and confidential employee payroll records and databases, ensuring all data is up-to-date.

Handle inquiries:

Act as the primary point of contact for employees, answering their questions and resolving any issues or discrepancies related to their pay.

Prepare reports:

Generate reports on payroll expenses, tax filings, and compensation for management and accounting purposes.

Reconcile discrepancies:

Perform audits and reconcile payroll accounts to identify and correct any discrepancies.

What You Need

5-8 years experience with payroll software (ADP, Paychex, QuickBooks, etc)

Comprehensive understanding of federal and state payroll regulations, tax codes, and accounting principles related to payroll

Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) is strongly preferred

Strong communication and collaboration skills

Strong attention to detail
