Job Summary Reporting to the Section Leader, Mammography/Sonography, the Diagnostic Sonographer utilizes high‑frequency sound waves and other diagnostic techniques to produce and evaluate ultrasound images and related data for medical diagnosis.
Minimum Qualifications
Graduate of an educational program that meets eligibility for the ARDMS registry.
Experience
Previous experience as a sonographer strongly preferred.
Licensure and/or Certification
Current registration with ARDMS; or ARDMS‑eligible with ARDMS achieved within 1 year of hire.
BLS (Basic Life Support) healthcare provider required.
Skills
Ultrasound scanning skills in vascular, OBGYN, abdominal and small parts required.
Ability to understand oral and written medical/radiological/sonographic terminology.
Comprehension of cross‑sectional anatomy and correlation with anatomical structures.
Ability to identify pathological processes.
Proficiency in reading, writing, and communicating in English.
Computer Skills Ability to maintain confidential information.
