Overview
Major, Lindsey & Africa’s Interim Legal Talent group has an immediate need for an Interim to Permanent Commercial Real Estate Paralegal.
Experience Seven or more years’ transactional experience acquired in a top law firm and/or well-respected in‑house environment.
Responsibilities
Review, negotiate, and draft a variety of complex commercial real estate agreements including: access agreements, assignments, termination agreements, consents to assignment, consents to sublease, estoppel certificates, confidentiality or Non‑Disclosure Agreement (NDAs), SNDAs, move‑out obligation letters, default notices and demand letters, and landlord waiver agreements.
Review lease agreements and draft simple lease amendments, extensions or renewals and real estate license agreements (short‑term leases).
Assist due diligence coordinator with the process of acquiring and disposing of properties (obtaining diligence reports, coordinating with third‑party professionals, coordinating with internal team members, tracking deadlines, etc.).
Review and provide initial comments on NDAs from third parties.
Maintain and track expirations of letters of credit.
Collect, organize, and maintain diligence materials in connection with securities offerings and borrowing transactions.
Qualifications
Excellent academic credentials including a baccalaureate degree from a well‑respected US University.
Seven or more years relevant transactional experience, preferably with three or more years at a law firm servicing commercial real estate clients.
Tech skills: Excel; contracts management and database system.
