Major, Lindsey & Africa’s Interim Legal Talent group is seeking a self-driven Paralegal with litigation experience for a transit-focused client’s legal department.
Overview:
Our client seeks an
Interim Senior Paralegal
to join our client’s legal team supporting litigation and legal operations. The assignment will be permanent or temporary-to-permanent. The role is anticipated to be full-time (minimum 32–40 hours/week).

Experience:
5 years paralegal experience, litigation experience preferred
Location:
HYBRID (Washington, D.C. metro)
Leadership & Team Support
Lead and mentor junior paralegals; provide guidance on research, drafting, and administrative tasks.
Ensure compliance with the company and General Counsel standards for confidentiality and document handling.
Litigation Support
Draft pleadings, motions, discovery responses, briefs, and internal memoranda.
Prepare trial materials, including exhibits, trial notebooks, and automated TOC/TOA.
Attend trials and assist attorneys during court proceedings.
Investigate accident/injury claims, interview witnesses, and gather evidence.
Legal Research & Document Management
Conduct legal research using online tools and print resources; summarize case law and statutes.
Maintain litigation files and manage e-filing in local jurisdictions.
Review records for accuracy and recommend redactions per company guidelines.
Prepare summaries of medical, employment, and other relevant documents.
Administrative & Reporting
Maintain attorney calendars, schedule court appearances, depositions, and meetings.
Generate reports from case management systems; analyze data for management.
Perform routine office tasks including document scanning, mail processing, and presentation preparation.
Qualifications
Minimum 5 years of paralegal experience with litigation focus.
Advanced knowledge of litigation processes, e-filing, and legal research systems.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Preferred Attributes
Collaborative, positive attitude and strong communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to confidentiality.
