Job Summary The Electrical Engineer will design building electrical systems including power, lighting, fire alarm, and special systems. The candidate will have the opportunity to work on projects in a variety of market sectors, such as healthcare, academic, industrial, and commercial projects.

Responsibilities

Develop the electrical systems design of a given project based on scope of work and/or client requirements.

Provide engineering planning, design, and construction administration for all electrical systems including power, lighting, and fire alarm systems.

Conduct existing building surveys and documentations of existing electrical and fire alarm systems.

Write/edit project specifications.

Qualifications and Experience

Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering.

A minimum of 5 years design experience.

LEED certification/experience is a plus.

Experience with projects in healthcare, science and technology, education, and commercial buildings.

Educational projects design is preferred.

Knowledge of electrical calculations including lighting photometric calculations, voltage drop and overcurrent protection coordination, and short circuit calculations.

Proficient in Revit, AutoCAD, and MS Office.

Familiarity with codes, standards, and design guidelines.

Excellent work ethic and attitude.

Good communication and time management skills.

Interpersonal communication skills, combined with organizational skills, the ability to plan, balance, and prioritize work.

Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

Location Bethesda, MD – Open to remote as well.

Compensation & Benefits The expected base salary range for this role is $120,000 – $135,000 USD per year. Actual compensation will be determined based on a number of factors including skills, experience, qualifications, and location.
