Position Overview
The Civil Superintendent will oversee and manage civil construction projects from inception to completion, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the specified quality standards. The ideal candidate will provide leadership, coordination, and supervision of site activities, focusing on safety, efficiency, and compliance with project specifications.
Key Responsibilities
Manage day-to-day operations of civil construction projects, including sitework, excavation, grading, and utilities installation.
Coordinate and supervise construction activities, ensuring adherence to project plans and specifications.
Lead and oversee a team of construction workers and subcontractors, providing guidance and support as needed.
Monitor project progress and performance, implementing corrective actions to address any issues that arise.
Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies to promote a safe working environment.
Maintain communication with project stakeholders, including clients, engineers, and suppliers, to ensure project alignment and resolve any conflicts.
Prepare and maintain project documentation, including daily reports, progress updates, and change orders.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field preferred.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in civil construction, with a focus on heavy civil projects.
Strong knowledge of sitework, excavation, grading, sewer systems, and utilities.
Proficient in construction management software such as HCSS and project scheduling tools.
Excellent leadership and communication skills to effectively manage teams and interact with stakeholders.
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to changing project conditions.
