Job Summary ANI Pharmaceuticals Inc. is looking for a Director, Ophthalmology Marketing to join our organization, reporting to the Sr. Director of Ophthalmology Marketing. This role will be based in an office in the Princeton, N.J. area with a 3 day per week in office expectation. Working with the Senior Director, Ophthalmology Marketing, this individual will assist in developing and executing the optimal promotional strategy and tactical mix to increase product awareness, conversion, and utilization of our products among target customers. The successful candidate will possess outstanding marketing acumen with strategic problem‑solving skills that can work collaboratively with multiple stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have experience in the ophthalmology and retina space and a track record of market growth in a competitive space.
Position Responsibilities
Develop and execute the promotional strategy for ILUVIEN and PCG in the retina and ophthalmology space.
Develop and refine the ILUVIEN and PCG positioning & messaging for HCPs, patients, office staff, and other relevant stakeholders.
Lead the development and execution of compelling, insights‑driven tactics in several HCP marketing channels for ILUVIEN and/or PCG to drive belief and behavior change, including
Personal promotion – visual aids, sales collateral, in‑office educational programs
Peer‑to‑peer – speaker program content development, speaker program operational planning, speaker bureau recruitment, and other peer‑to‑peer tactics across non‑personal channels
Conferences – conference booth and collateral development, customer and thought leader engagement, conference surround strategy, and other conference engagement opportunities.
Lead planning and execution of advisory boards and other HCP and Patient insights gathering initiatives.
Guide marketing initiatives and tactics through the MLR (medical, legal, regulatory) review process.
Depending on interest and opportunity, develop and execute tactics across other promotional channels or target audiences (digital/non‑personal, payer/access).
Ensure appropriate analytical plans are developed and executed to measure promotional program effectiveness, efficiency, and ROI.
Manage marketing agencies and external partners to develop assets, campaigns and execute programs targeted to potential patients.
Manage brand/channel marketing budget to maintain appropriate levels of spending within overall ophthalmology marketing budget.
Collaborate with the other commercial team members: Marketing, Sales, Sales Training, Strategic Development & Advocacy, Patient Services and Market Access to ensure alignment and/or harmony of the core brand message platform and initiatives across all stakeholder audiences, including physician, payer, consumer.
Ensure all promotional activities are compliant with all applicable rules and regulations.
Education / Experience
Bachelor’s degree in relevant discipline (life science, marketing, business) is required; advanced degree (PharmD, MBA, etc.) is preferred.
8+ years of pharmaceutical, biopharmaceutical marketing experience is required.
Experience in marketing ophthalmology / eye care and retina products is preferred.
Experience with buy‑and‑bill reimbursement dynamics is a plus.
Qualifications And Skills
Ability to interact and lead effectively within the company (cross department and with all levels of the organization).
Ability to manage and prioritize strategies, initiatives and workload proactively in a fast‑paced, entrepreneurial environment.
Strong writing skills with proven success in authoring content for consumer facing markets that include patients.
Exceptional project management skills including coordination, communication and adherence to budget and completion goals, prioritization and troubleshooting.
Strong marketing/business acumen and experience managing external agencies.
Adaptable, open to change, and able to work in ambiguous situations with some direction and respond to new information and unexpected circumstances.
Travel Required 20% domestic travel
Benefits The base salary range for this position is $170,000 to $200,000; the exact salary depends on various factors such as experience, skills, education, location, competencies and industry‑specific knowledge. In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for participation in a competitive short‑term and long‑term incentive program based on performance and company results. ANI Pharmaceuticals offers a variety of benefits to eligible employees, including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, retirement savings plans, paid leave programs, paid holidays and paid time off.
