I and C Engineer - Career Level (Data Centers)

Jacobs Base pay range: $95,200.00/yr - $130,900.00/yr We are looking for an Instrumentation and Controls Engineer who is excited about working on projects that enable the heart of our clients’ business. You will be accountable for the schedule and technical quality of challenging engineering tasks, gaining familiarity with the client’s expectations, scope, budget, and schedule. You will also provide on-site assistance during startup, coordinate work activities with other staff members and the discipline lead. As part of a collaborative, multi-disciplinary team, you’ll help design and optimize control systems for a variety of processes, working closely with architects, engineers, and designers to deliver complete, world‑class solutions for new facilities. Your responsibilities include developing P&IDs, sizing valves, specifying instrumentation, and documenting and modeling design information while ensuring compliance with building codes and industry standards. Responsibilities

Develop P&IDs for process systems. Size valves and select appropriate instrumentation. Specify control system components (PLC, DCS, etc.). Document and model design information. Ensure compliance with building codes and industry standards. Provide on-site assistance during startup and commissioning. Coordinate work activities with project staff and discipline leads. Produce control system designs and develop options for process control optimization. Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Control Systems, or Electrical Engineering. At least 6 years of experience working with instrumentation and control. Working knowledge of PLC, DCS, and related control applications. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written. Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills. Forward thinking, eagerness to learn best practices, and innovative ideas. Ability to collaborate effectively in multi‑disciplinary teams. Experience mentoring junior professionals or leading small teams. Interest and passion for buildings and construction. Engineer in Training (EIT) certification (preferred). Experience with data center design (preferred). Benefits
