Base pay range $95,200.00/yr – $130,900.00/yr

Job summary This role is available to candidates anywhere in the United States; ideally near a Jacobs U.S. office. The position involves control‑systems design responsibilities for industrial and commercial facility projects, ensuring P&IDs, valve sizing, instrumentation specification, and documentation while meeting building codes and standards.

Responsibilities

Accountable for the schedule and technical quality of challenging engineering tasks.

Provide on‑site assistance during startup and coordinate work activities with other staff and discipline leads.

Design and optimize control systems for various processes in collaboration with architects, engineers, and designers.

Develop P&IDs, size valves, specify instrumentation, document and model design information.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Control Systems, or Electrical Engineering.

At least 6 years of experience working with instrumentation and control.

Working knowledge of PLC, DCS, and other controls applications.

Engineer in Training (EIT) – preferred.

Strong communication (verbal and written) and analytical/problem‑solving skills.

Forward thinking, eager to learn best practices, and contribute innovative ideas.

Strong collaboration skills; ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams.

Passion for buildings and construction.

Experience mentoring junior professionals or leading small teams (preferred).

Experience with data center design (preferred).
