Job Description
Onsite; Sunnyvale, CA – 5 days in office
Overview The Reliability Engineering Team plays a critical role in ensuring Meta’s products meet the highest standards of reliability and performance. We work closely with cross‑functional partners to identify and mitigate risks, develop and execute reliability tests, and analyze data to inform design and process improvements. Responsibilities
Deeply understand DIC, accelerometer, strain gauge and other sophisticated testing methods in order to train and assist technicians
Design, develop, and implement test fixtures and setups to support REL tests
Develop and document standard operating procedures (SOPs) for testing and equipment operation
Train new personnel on equipment operation
Troubleshoot equipment issues
Execute high‑impact, high‑priority REL Test requests
Communicate progress, blockages, issues and progress in a timely manner
Follow documentation for testing and equipment operation
Set up and operate test equipment, including sensors, strain gauges, and accelerometers
Apply sensors and strain gauges to test specimens and ensure accurate data collection
Write and maintain accurate records of test results, including data analysis and interpretation
Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot issues and resolve problems, and communicate to Lab Manager and Lab Engineer
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to optimize test processes and equipment
Track time spent on activities, and report daily
Required Skills
Lab Engineer with 4–5 years of experience in consumer electronic reliability testing
Experience with environmental chambers for heat soak and temperature cycling
Experience with controlled drop tower
Experience with high‑speed video cameras (e.g., Photron or Phantom)
Experience with digital microscopes (e.g., Keyence)
Experience with universal testing machines (Instron, single‑ or bi‑axial)
Experience with UV chamber (Atlas Material Testing)
Preferred Skills
Experience with shock towers (Lansmont)
Experience with electrodynamic vibration table
Experience with digital image correlation
Experience with collaborative robot arms (Universal Robotics)
