Under the direction of the middle school principal, plans and provides appropriate learning experiences for adolescent students. Working with interdisciplinary teams, provides a school culture conducive to the intellectual, physical, social and emotional development of adolescents, ensuring success for every student. Supervises middle school students in a variety of school‑related settings, communicates and collaborates with students, staff, parents, and the community. Develops, selects, and differentiates instructional plans and materials to meet the needs of all middle school students. Maintains appropriate records, follows required procedures and practices, and uses data analysis to monitor student achievement. Monitors appropriate use and care of equipment, materials, and facilities. Physical Demands: As required by the duties and responsibilities of the job. Special Requirements: Required to attend school meetings, programs and activities outside the instructional day as mandated by the MCEA agreement. Job Specific Information Wage range: salary between $64,591 and $131,472 based on education and experience. Excellent oral and written communication and human relations skills. Commitment to advocating for young adolescents, serving as role model and supporter of diversity (e.g., race, ethnicity, gender, developmental differences, learning styles, exceptionalities). Knowledge and application of the six performance standards of the Montgomery County Public Schools Teacher Professional Growth System (TPGS) and the Supporting Services Professional Growth System (SSPGS). Education, Training, Experience Bachelor's degree in an applicable field of education from an accredited college or university, with knowledge of adolescent learners. Certificate License meeting Maryland state certification requirements in appropriate field of education.
