Simulation Software Development Team Lead

Leidos’ Defense Systems Land Sensor Area seeks a Simulation Software Engineering Team Lead to support the simulation and analysis of missile defense ground‑based radars. The role involves developing a real‑time radar simulation product used for warfighter training, integrated missile defense exercises, and system testing of tactical command and control algorithms. You will work with and mentor junior and senior software developers and collaborate with systems and radar engineers.
Primary Responsibilities
Act as team lead for an established group of software developers and interface daily with software developers, systems, and radar engineers.
Update and modernize an existing simulation model framework and radar models to align with tactical system capabilities.
Work daily on‑site at customer facilities on a multi‑contractor team, representing Leidos technically, professionally, and ethically.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or related STEM discipline and 12‑15 years of experience in computer science or software development.
Advanced degrees in Computer Science or Computer Engineering are strongly encouraged.
Significant proficiency in C/C++ and Java.
Experience with issue tracking tools and continuous integration (CI) pipelines.
Resident of the North Alabama area or willing to relocate to Huntsville, AL.
Must hold and maintain a SECRET clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
Highly organized with strong documentation and tasking skills.
Experience with GitLab and CI pipelines.
Integrated system simulation software experience.
Experience in high‑performance multithreaded software.
Experience modeling & simulation software.
Location

Pay Range
$126,100.00 – $227,950.00
