Simulation Software Development Team Lead
Join our Defense Systems Land Sensor Area team to lead simulation and analysis of missile defense ground-based radars. The role involves working with senior and junior developers, mentoring, and collaborating with radar engineers.
Primary Responsibilities
Lead an established team of software developers and interface daily with diverse teams of systems and radar engineers.
Update and modernize an existing simulation model framework and radar models to reflect tactical system capabilities.
Work on‑site at customer facilities on a multi‑contractor team, representing Leidos technically, professionally, and ethically.
Ensure compliance with security and confidentiality standards in all project activities.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or related STEM discipline, and a minimum of 12‑15 years of experience in computer science or software development.
Advanced degrees in Computer Science or Computer Engineering strongly encouraged and may be considered in lieu of experience.
Significant proficiency with C/C++ and Java, the primary languages used.
Proven experience with issue tracking tools and Continuous Integration (CI) pipelines.
Resident of the North Alabama area or willing to relocate to Huntsville, AL.
Must possess and maintain a SECRET clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
Highly organized with the ability to document and detail tasking to the team.
Experience with GitLab and CI pipelines.
Experience in integrated system simulation software.
Experience in high‑performance multithreaded software.
Experience in modeling and simulation software.
Compensation Pay Range: $126,100.00 – $227,950.00. The Leidos pay range is a general guideline and not a guarantee of compensation.
Location & Clearance Huntsville, Alabama (North Alabama area). Candidate must maintain a SECRET clearance.
Employment Type Full‑time, Mid‑Senior level.
