Job Description Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) is seeking a highly experienced and strategic Senior Software Manager to lead critical infrastructure initiatives within the Networking organization. You will drive the design, delivery, and operational excellence of essential infrastructure components, leading a high‑caliber team to achieve key objectives through exemplary leadership, talent development, and resource optimization. This role demands a seasoned professional who embodies OCI values and can navigate complex challenges to deliver exceptional outcomes.

As the Senior Manager in OCI, you will provide leadership to a dedicated team overseeing the end‑to‑end lifecycle of infrastructure projects. Your role will involve aligning the team’s objectives with broader organizational goals, maintaining a strategic focus on long‑term infrastructure stability and scalability, fostering a high‑performance culture, and mentoring and developing team members to encourage continuous learning and professional growth.

You will also play a pivotal role in talent development, leading by example in identifying and nurturing talent, engaging in regular career development discussions, and offering strategic guidance to support the growth of each team member. In performance management, you will establish clear, measurable goals, implement robust processes to monitor progress, assess performance, and maintain accountability at all levels, focusing on tangible outcomes that contribute to OCI’s critical infrastructure initiatives.

Responsibilities

Lead a high‑performance engineering team.

Identify, recruit, and retain top software engineering and cloud talent.

Own your service from design through implementation to ongoing operations.

Create effective project plans working with product leadership and your technical team.

Manage 24x7 operational support on your team’s no‑downtime architecture.

Build relationships with other OCI service leads to drive effective integrations and escalations.

Qualifications

A BS or MS degree in a relevant field, or equivalent experience.

5+ years of experience in people management, with a proven track record in managing large‑scale critical service.

Demonstrated expertise in cloud engineering, building scalable and distributed systems.

Demonstrated ability to identify and recruit very strong engineering talent.

Capability to sustainably scale systems through tooling and automation.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly to all audiences, including senior leadership.

Results‑driven; thrives in an agile, collaborative, startup‑mode environment, even when faced with ambiguity and competing priorities.
