Job Description
The Software Assurance Gateway team at Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) builds and operates gateway services to ensure the security and integrity of services within our customers’ tenancies. Our mission is to deliver highly resilient, scalable, and high-performance solutions designed to meet critical business and security needs. As part of OCI, you’ll work alongside talented engineers and leaders, shaping the future of cloud security and infrastructure.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience
10+ years of software engineering experience including at least 3 years in an engineering management or senior technical leadership role
Demonstrated experience leading high‑performing engineering teams building and operating large‑scale, distributed, mission‑critical cloud services
Proven ability to drive both technical depth and breadth in systems design, architecture, and operations
Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills, including experience with executive‑level communication
Demonstrated success with hiring, developing, and retaining engineering talent, including managing managers
Experience balancing immediate tactical needs with long‑term strategic planning
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in public cloud environments (OCI, AWS, Azure, etc.), including hands‑on knowledge of cloud networking, infrastructure as code (Terraform, etc.), and cybersecurity
Experience leading geographically distributed teams and managing multiple product lines or services
Demonstrated ability to optimize resources and budgets, lead through organizational change, and deliver operational excellence
Strong understanding of both SQL and NoSQL databases, Linux internals, and container or virtualization technologies
Prior experience in roadmap planning, organizational modeling, and headcount/resource planning
Responsibilities
Provide strategic, technical, and people leadership for the Software Assurance Gateway team, ensuring alignment with OCI and customer goals
Guide system design, architecture, and operational maturity in a highly available, secure, and scalable cloud environment
Set clear priorities and direction for teams, balancing tactical execution with strategic innovation
Foster an inclusive culture focused on engineering and operational excellence, talent development, and proactive problem‑solving
Manage and mentor both managers and individual contributors, addressing performance and professional growth at all levels
Partner with stakeholders and cross‑functional teams to deliver on key initiatives, ensuring clear communication and accountability
Oversee planning for resources, budgets, and headcount, enabling the organization to scale effectively
Drive continuous improvements in processes, automation, monitoring, and incident response

Pay & Benefits US: Hiring Range in USD from: $118,300 - $251,600 per year. May be eligible for bonus, equity, and compensation deferral.
