Associate Counsel, PIP
Location: Hudson/Essex/Passaic, NJ (REMOTE)
Base pay range: $118,900 - $186,550 per year.

Responsibilities
Research laws and prepare legal briefs, opinions and memoranda.
Render opinions on coverage, medical necessity/causation, damages and value as requested by the Claims Department.
Prepare and handle arbitration submissions, examinations under oath, and defend by trial or dispositive hearing, as applicable.
Basic Qualifications
2 to 6+ years of experience in related field litigation in insurance defense and/or personal injury.
Juris Doctor degree.
Admission to the New Jersey Bar.
Licensed to practice law in New Jersey in good standing and meeting mandatory Continuing Legal Education requirements.
Ability to travel for trials, hearings, depositions, management meetings and conferences.
Ability to document files in a clear, concise, professional written manner understandable to customers, clients, co‑workers and other employees.
Ability to follow complex instructions, resolve conflicts or facilitate conflict resolution, and possess strong organization, priority setting and multi‑tasking skills.
Ability to learn and apply large amounts of technical and procedural information.
Preferred Qualifications
Civil litigation experience.
Insurance defense-related litigation experience.
Professional communication skills in person, via telephone and written correspondence/email.
Location Remote – work from anywhere in the U.S. for up to four weeks per year.
Annual Salary $118,900 – $186,550 per year. Final salary will be based on skills, experience, responsibilities and market considerations.
