Information Technology Group The IT group delivers secure, reliable technology solutions that enable DTCC to be the trusted infrastructure of the global capital markets. The Impact You Will Have In This Role The Test Engineering Director will oversee and execute integration and validation efforts across FICC applications and their upstream and downstream systems. The Enterprise Test Engineering (ETE) group is responsible for ensuring that all applications and systems adhere to defined quality standards. This role is pivotal in maintaining data integrity, functional accuracy, and operational readiness throughout the full trade lifecycle. The Director will lead an end‑to‑end testing team and work closely with cross‑functional partners to coordinate business cycle runs, support performance and resiliency testing, and validate readiness for client‑facing environments. Responsibilities include developing, conducting, and evaluating testing processes while collaborating with developers to remediate system defects. The position requires deep expertise in automated testing tools and quality assurance methodologies, including the creation of reusable, foundational test automation frameworks for the organization. The Test Engineering function provides centralized, independent quality assurance services across the firm, encompassing both functional and non‑functional testing for all products, services, and applications. The Director will design, develop, and maintain automated testing solutions, offering testing expertise, oversight, and strategic direction to ensure solutions meet design specifications and deliver intended functionality.
Your Primary Responsibilities
Coordinate and perform end‑to‑end testing across FICC applications and related LOBs.
Validate trade data flow between systems and LOBs.
Certify readiness for client testing in PSE environments.
Attend FICC‑specific project and scrum meetings to understand scope and proactively plan testing activities.
Execute FICC Business Cycle runs in QA environments to verify integration across squads.
Support coordinated testing in lower environments across FICC and all other interfacing systems.
Maintain intermediate data stores for regression test reuse and orchestration.
Act as a single point of contact for integration testing across systems.
Engage with upstream and downstream teams to ensure test data availability and flow.
Support external testing coordination with clients and partners.
Direct and ensure smooth workflow within the team by staying informed with key elements of the organization and communicating key messages in a timely manner.
Oversee and influence the professional development of team personnel by cultivating programs and initiatives to augment skills and capabilities.
Control the Demand Management process, supporting leadership in the planning the required resources for future projects, smoothing supply peaks and troughs.
Manage team’s budget by supervising planned versus actual expenditures and identifying root causes of noted variances.
Cultivate a strong organizational network by prioritizing relationships across the enterprise.
Influence designs towards re‑usable IT components and services keeping in mind test validation and automation principles.
Accountable for the preparation and execution of end‑to‑end and automated test plans and execution activities.
Contribute SME insights and collaborate with teams to identify the root cause of application issues.
Ensure team’s adherence to departmental and organizational policy and procedures.
Review test strategies with collaborators to validate comprehensive coverage and obtain feedback.
Responsible for the provisioning of test environments for the team, and assist with coordination to resolve issues.
Mitigate risk by following established procedures, spotting key errors and demonstrating strong ethical behavior.
Qualifications
Minimum of 10 years of related experience.
Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent experience.
Proven experience in integration testing across multiple environments.
Strong background in designing and implementing end‑to‑end automation testing frameworks.
Familiarity with AI‑driven tools for testing (strongly preferred).
Excellent communication and coordination skills across technical and business teams.
