Wheaton Warrenville Community Unit School District
is looking for a Middle School Assistant Principal. Under the supervision of the principal, the assistant principal is responsible for planning, implementing, monitoring, and evaluating all aspects of the District 200 middle school program.
Responsibilities
Curriculum and Instruction : has experience and knowledge of curriculum practices for grades 6‑8 middle school standards; participate in the development of a master schedule which implements course offerings; review student learning data for continuous school improvement efforts; support staff with the implementation of curriculum and technology integration; demonstrate commitment to student achievement, school improvement, and professional learning.
Human Resources : supervise and evaluate building personnel; assist in the hiring process for all school staff; advise, assist, and train employees as necessary; participate in the selection of new employees and make recommendations regarding hiring, discipline, transfer and termination of employees.
Student Services : supervise student support services in behavior, academics, health, and attendance; monitor MTSS process for identifying and providing student services; monitor and record student attendance; work with the behavior interventionist to administer student behavior management; assist in ensuring a safe and secure school building; plan, educate and conduct safety drills; supervise and monitor student activities.
Business Operations : assist with building budget, facility use, cafeteria, transportation, and governmental reports; facilitate delivery of transportation services; assist in preparation of district, state, and federal reports; ensure efficient operation of the school implementing and interpreting policies, procedures, and regulations for effective day‑to‑day and long‑term operation.
Qualifications
Hold an Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with an Administrative Endorsement.
Have knowledge of the Illinois Learning Standards.
Be an instructional leader.
Possess excellent oral and written communication skills.
Have knowledge and experience related to Professional Learning Communities.
Have knowledge and experience related to MTSS process.
Have knowledge and experience working with high‑needs special education & EL programs.
Demonstrate commitment to student achievement and school improvement.
Celebrate diversity within the school community.
Understand the needs of multilingual learners and students with disabilities.
Demonstrate ongoing commitment to personal professional development.
Build a culture of high aspirations and achievement for every student.
