Execution Technology team
at Balyasny sets the standard for innovative, effective, and user‑centric technologies that empower our firm’s Investment and Business divisions to achieve breakthrough performance. BAM’s Execution Technology team builds millisecond aware systems that form the core of our key business. Our code supports large transactions with millisecond latency in a fault tolerant manner. As ambassadors of leading‑edge design and technology, we are inviting an Engineer to join us in shaping the next generation of digital experiences within the Execution Platforms.
We are looking for candidates who share a passion for tackling complexity and building platforms that can scale through multiple orders of magnitude.
Responsibilities
Assist senior engineers with designing high performance trading system components in a distributed architecture
Conduct design and code reviews
Analyze and improve efficiency, scalability, and stability of our systems
Interact with stakeholders (traders, portfolio managers, risk)
Minimum Qualifications
5+ years of experience building financial/trading systems in Java
Extensive experience with multi‑threaded/concurrency programming with lock‑free algorithms
Experience with distributed systems design and development
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Thrives in a fast‑paced environment
Preferred Qualifications
Comfortable using other programming languages, preferably C# / C++ / React
Experience programming using low‑latency techniques
