Water/Wastewater Project Engineer Location: Wethersfield, CT

Base pay range: $80,000.00 – $115,000.00 per year.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver water, wastewater, and stormwater design projects.

Participate in planning, cost development and management, and scheduling for assigned projects and tasks.

Coordinate project assignments with other engineers and technicians within the local and regional water group.

Complete civil design calculations, sketches, technical comparisons, and other technical work as required for each assignment.

Assist in the development of plans, specifications, and cost estimates.

Participate in professional organizations for marketing, industry recognition, networking, and building the Jacobs brand.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related discipline.

PE license in the state of CT required or the ability to obtain one within one year.

At least 5 years of consulting experience for water and wastewater clients.

Experience serving diverse clients in drinking water, wastewater, and stormwater conveyance systems.

Demonstrated understanding of water and wastewater conveyance and/or treatment processes, master planning, and condition assessments.

Willingness to learn Jacobs’ proprietary tools.

Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.

Technical writing, reviewing, and providing clear, concise input to investigations, memorandums, or solutions reports.

Working knowledge of local and state design codes and standards.

Proficient with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

Experience in AutoCAD and ESRI ArcGIS required.

Additional Desired Qualifications

Master’s degree in Civil/Environmental Engineering or equivalent.

Experience managing deliverables to scope, schedule, and budget.

Experience providing services during construction.

Involvement in professional society organizations, community organizations, or volunteer leadership roles.

Self‑motivated initiator, demonstrated through professional society involvements or related activities.
