As water demand intensifies, we seek an enthusiastic, highly motivated Water/Wastewater Engineer to join our Water team in New England, working on municipal water and wastewater and stormwater conveyance and treatment projects.

Base pay range

$80,000.00/yr – $115,000.00/yr

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team on water, wastewater, and stormwater design projects.
  • Participate in planning, cost development, and scheduling for assigned projects.
  • Coordinate project assignments with other engineers and technicians in the local and regional water group.
  • Complete civil design calculations, sketches, technical comparisons, and other technical work as required.
  • Assist in developing plans, specifications, and cost estimates.
  • Participate in professional organizations for marketing, industry recognition, networking, and building the Jacobs brand.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or related discipline.
  • At least 3 years of consulting experience with water and wastewater clients.
  • Experience with drinking water, wastewater, and stormwater conveyance systems.
  • Understanding of water and wastewater conveyance and/or treatment processes, master planning, and condition assessments.
  • Willingness to learn Jacobs’ proprietary tools.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
  • Technical writing and review skills.
  • Knowledge of local and state design codes and standards.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Experience in AutoCAD and ESRI ArcGIS.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional Engineer license or ability to obtain within one year.
  • Master’s degree in Civil/Environmental Engineering or equivalent.
  • Experience managing deliverables to scope, schedule, and budget.
  • Experience providing services during construction.
  • Leadership roles in professional or community organizations.
  • Self‑motivated initiator demonstrated by professional society involvement.
