As water demand intensifies, we seek an enthusiastic, highly motivated Water/Wastewater Engineer to join our Water team in New England, working on municipal water and wastewater and stormwater conveyance and treatment projects.
Base pay range
$80,000.00/yr – $115,000.00/yr
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team on water, wastewater, and stormwater design projects.
- Participate in planning, cost development, and scheduling for assigned projects.
- Coordinate project assignments with other engineers and technicians in the local and regional water group.
- Complete civil design calculations, sketches, technical comparisons, and other technical work as required.
- Assist in developing plans, specifications, and cost estimates.
- Participate in professional organizations for marketing, industry recognition, networking, and building the Jacobs brand.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or related discipline.
- At least 3 years of consulting experience with water and wastewater clients.
- Experience with drinking water, wastewater, and stormwater conveyance systems.
- Understanding of water and wastewater conveyance and/or treatment processes, master planning, and condition assessments.
- Willingness to learn Jacobs’ proprietary tools.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Technical writing and review skills.
- Knowledge of local and state design codes and standards.
- Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Experience in AutoCAD and ESRI ArcGIS.
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional Engineer license or ability to obtain within one year.
- Master’s degree in Civil/Environmental Engineering or equivalent.
- Experience managing deliverables to scope, schedule, and budget.
- Experience providing services during construction.
- Leadership roles in professional or community organizations.
- Self‑motivated initiator demonstrated by professional society involvement.
