Executive Recruiter, Supply Chain Operations & Logistics Support - North/Central New Jersey The Category Procurement Manager is responsible for developing and executing sourcing strategies for assigned food categories (e.g., proteins, ingredients, packaging). This role ensures supply continuity, cost optimization, and quality standards while managing supplier relationships and driving innovation. The position requires strong analytical, sourcing, negotiation, and leadership skills to deliver savings and support business growth.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Sourcing & Category Management

Develop and implement procurement strategies for assigned categories.

Monitor market trends, commodity pricing, and supplier performance to mitigate risk.

Drive cost savings initiatives and manage purchase price variance.

Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure service, quality, and innovation.

Negotiate contracts, terms, and conditions to optimize value and reduce risk.

Collaborate with suppliers on sustainability and compliance initiatives.

Cross‑Functional Collaboration

Partner with R&D, Operations, Finance, and Marketing to support new product development and category innovations.

Coordinate material flow and inventory management to meet production and customer needs.

Performance & Compliance

Track KPIs such as inventory turns, service levels, and cost savings.

Ensure adherence to food safety, regulatory, and corporate procurement standards.

Qualifications

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Procurement, or related field.

Experience:

5–7 years in procurement or category management within the food industry or CPG (distribution or manufacturing preferred). Experience managing ingredient categories is highly desirable.

Skills

Strong negotiation and analytical skills.

Knowledge of ERP systems and procurement tools.

Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
