Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement strategic purchasing plans to optimize cost, quality, and delivery performance.
Identify, evaluate, and qualify new suppliers while managing and nurturing relationships with existing vendors.
Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing with suppliers to secure favorable agreements and mitigate risks.
Oversee the procurement of raw materials, components, and MRO supplies essential for manufacturing operations.
Collaborate with production, engineering, and quality departments to ensure timely material availability and adherence to specifications.
Monitor market trends, commodity prices, and supply chain risks to inform purchasing decisions and ensure continuity.
Manage inventory levels effectively to support production schedules while minimizing carrying costs and waste.
Recommended Qualifications
Proven experience in purchasing/procurement within a manufacturing environment.
Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
In-depth knowledge of supply chain management principles and best practices.
Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems for purchasing functions.
Excellent leadership and communication abilities.
Bonus Qualifications
Lean Six Sigma Green or Black Belt certification.
Professional certification such as CSCP, CPIM, or CPSM.
Experience with international sourcing and logistics.
Advanced proficiency with ERP/MRP systems, including implementation or optimization experience.
