Description of Work The Nutrition Program Consultant coordinates programmatic and nutrition training for local health agency staff and staff of public and private entities; develops nutrition education tools that promote breastfeeding, healthful eating, and physical activity in women, children, and families; conducts social marketing and health education campaigns; and supports quality assurance of nutrition programs through program monitoring and evaluation. This position reports to the Nutrition Education and Training and Outreach Team Lead.
Key Responsibilities
Coordinate nutrition and training programs across WIC, FMNP, and CACFP units.
Develop and deliver workshops, trainings, and educational materials for a variety of audiences.
Execute social marketing campaigns to increase nutrition knowledge and healthy behaviors.
Monitor and evaluate program performance, providing data-driven recommendations.
Collaborate with stakeholders to integrate nutrition services into community health initiatives.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Demonstrated knowledge of principles and practices of normal and therapeutic nutrition and its relationship to growth and chronic disease.
Proven experience in program management, planning, implementation, and evaluation of nutrition services.
Working knowledge of education techniques and behavior change principles; ability to develop and deliver training materials.
Experience interpreting and implementing policy and procedure guidelines.
Minimum Education & Experience Master's degree in nutrition or public health nutrition from an accredited institution and credential of Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) with the Commission on Dietetic Registration of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, plus three years of program administration or supervisory experience.
Additional Information
Recruitment range: $56,094 – $71,519
Position eligible for a hybrid-teleworking schedule with weekly onsite requirements.
