Assistant Professor in Inorganic Chemistry, Department of Chemistry (R0008113) Wake Forest University. The Department of Chemistry invites applications for a tenure‑track faculty position as Assistant Professor of Chemistry, effective July 1, 2026.

Location: Winston Salem, NC

Open Date: Sep 5, 2025

Position Summary This individual will be expected to teach courses in inorganic chemistry at the graduate and undergraduate level, engage in scholarly activities, participate in departmental, college, and university service, and contribute to the university’s community outreach efforts.

Qualifications

Earned Ph.D. in Inorganic Chemistry.

Ability to teach courses in inorganic chemistry.

Demonstrated ability to develop an externally funded, nationally recognized research program in synthetic inorganic chemistry involving undergraduate and graduate students.

Contribution to an academic environment that fosters learning and growth for all stakeholders.

Research interests may include functional materials, environmental remediation, inorganic catalysis in small‑molecule activation and functionalization, or other areas of synthetic inorganic chemistry.

A statement (≤ 5 pages) describing the proposed research in the context of the current state of the discipline/field.
