Principal Wi-Fi Network Engineer (High-Density Environments)

Dallas, TX (Hybrid - 3 days onsite)

We are seeking a Principal Wi‑Fi Network Engineer to support one of the most innovative wireless connectivity teams in the United States. This engineer will oversee the performance, reliability, and RF optimization of multiple high‑density Wi‑Fi networks powering professional sports venues, major entertainment arenas, and large public spaces.
You will serve as the senior technical authority ensuring seamless wireless experiences in some of the most demanding, mission‑critical environments where thousands of users rely on flawless connectivity in real time. This role is hands‑on and ideal for someone who thrives with autonomy, takes complete ownership, and enjoys solving complex Wi‑Fi challenges at scale.
What You’ll Do
Own end‑to‑end RF design, optimization, and tuning across stadiums, arenas, and large‑scale enterprise environments
Continuously monitor, adjust, and troubleshoot Wi‑Fi performance before, during, and after live events
Work hands‑on with Cisco wireless systems (priority), including WLCs, AP families, and advanced wireless features
Support and integrate with additional wireless ecosystems such as Ruckus, Aruba, and Extreme
Diagnose and resolve complex RF issues using packet analysis, spectrum analysis, and Wi‑Fi site‑survey tools
Maintain high availability and stability in networks supporting tens of thousands of concurrent users
Ensure resilient connectivity for mission‑critical applications such as facial‑recognition entry systems, POS, mobile concessions, and real‑time operational applications
Partner directly with VP‑level technical leadership and collaborate with cross‑functional engineering and field teams
Contribute to strategic long‑term wireless infrastructure planning across all supported venues
Develop and enforce best practices for high‑density Wi‑Fi deployment, monitoring, and optimization
What We’re Looking For
Approximately 5+ years of senior‑level Wi‑Fi engineering experience
Strong Cisco background; CCNP/CCIE Wireless or equivalent experience is a major plus
Expertise in RF fundamentals, wireless design, and high‑density Wi‑Fi performance tuning
Hands‑on experience with Ekahau or similar wireless planning and survey tools
Strong understanding of wireless protocols, client behavior, roaming, and interference mitigation
Ability to operate independently and take full ownership of complex wireless environments
Proven experience troubleshooting in real‑time, mission‑critical environments
Familiarity with enterprise wireless platforms such as Cisco, Ruckus, Aruba, or Extreme
Ability to be onsite in the Dallas area three days per week
