AV Solution Engineer
at TSC you will be the technical authority for system design, AV network architecture, integration, and final commissioning of complex AV systems. This hands‑on role also owns third‑party supplier coordination and delivery management—defining bills of materials, leading onsite commissioning, producing as‑built documentation, and keeping multi‑stakeholder projects on track. We seek engineers who combine deep AV networking knowledge, strong system design skills, and excellent stakeholder management. The Storytelling Company
(TSC) creates immersive, one‑of‑a‑kind digital and physical experiences that connect people to stories in memorable ways. Our USA office is in Charlotte, NC, and our hybrid team blends technology, creativity, and architecture to craft extraordinary spaces for innovative brands. Key Responsibilities
Lead system design and documentation for AV projects: create detailed diagrams, bills of materials (BOMs), network maps, rack elevations, and as‑built packages. Define and oversee AV network architecture and configurations (VLANs, QoS, multicast, IP addressing, PoE, subnetting, routing fundamentals). Design and commission DSPs, matrix switchers, video wall processors, professional audio systems, PTZ/conference cameras, LED/LCD displays, and UC integrations. Implement and validate AV‑over‑IP standards and protocols such as Dante, AES67, NDI, AVB, SIP/RTSP, and related integrations. Lead onsite commissioning and acceptance testing, producing test logs, handover documentation, and as‑built deliverables. Own delivery and third‑party supplier coordination—manage milestones, risks, and dependencies; recommend mitigations and verify deliverables. Work closely with Project Management, Sales, Creative, Installation vendors, and client ICT/IT teams for integrated solutions. Maintain security‑aware AV deployment practices and ensure compliance with network and cybersecurity standards. Travel: typically 10–25% (may vary by project). Hybrid role based out of Charlotte, NC (more travel possible for some projects). Qualifications
5–7+ years of AV integration or solutions engineering experience (mid‑level professional). Hands‑on experience with system design, integration, and commissioning of medium to large AV systems (conference rooms, auditoriums, video walls, immersive installations). Proficiency with DSPs, matrix switchers, video wall processors, control systems, and UC platforms (Crestron, Extron, Microsoft Teams/UC hardware). Strong AV networking skills: VLANs, QoS, multicast, IP addressing, PoE, subnetting, routing fundamentals. Practical knowledge of AV‑over‑IP standards and protocols: Dante, AES67, NDI, AVB, SIP/RTSP. Commissioning and troubleshooting experience at scale, including scripting and verification of control systems and DSP flows. Proficiency producing technical drawings and documentation—AutoCAD, Vectorworks, Revit, Bluebeam or equivalent; comfortable creating rack elevations, cable schedules, and network diagrams. Hands‑on knowledge of professional audio systems, microphones, amplifiers, arrays, conferencing cameras (PTZ), LED/LCD video displays and mounting/rigging considerations. Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and perform ladder work as needed. Background check required. Minimum education: High School (technical/industry training or certifications highly valued). Preferred Qualifications & Certifications
CTS‑D or CTS‑I preferred (CTS acceptable/encouraged). Dante Level 2+, Q‑SYS Level 2, Crestron Level 2, Biamp Tesira (or equivalent DSP product) certifications a plus. Experience working with ICT/IT teams and implementing network security best practices for AV. Benefits
Competitive compensation and annual bonus potential. 3 weeks paid time off, healthcare coverage, and a 401(k) plan. Meaningful work—contribute to award‑worthy immersive projects and help shape technical delivery standards at a fast‑growing studio.
