The NDT Inspector is responsible for performing and interpreting various non‑destructive tests—including Fluorescent Penetrant Inspection (FPI), Magnetic Particle Inspection (MPI), and, when incorporated into the maintenance program, Eddy Current (ET) and Ultrasonic Testing (UT)—on gas turbine engine components and QEC structures. This role requires maintaining Level II proficiency in all NDT disciplines and applying extensive experience across multiple product lines (T56, PT6, QEC).

Responsibilities

Perform FPI, MPI, UT, and ET inspections on aircraft parts following process travelers, manuals, and approved procedures.

Prioritize testing operations to support production schedules.

Review test orders to determine required methods, procedures, and acceptance criteria.

Prepare parts for testing by applying cleaners, penetrants, developers, and related materials.

Set up, adjust, and verify test equipment according to metal type, thickness, geometry, and technical specifications.

Ensure all measuring, gauging, and NDT equipment is properly calibrated and functional.

Perform inspections, identify and mark discontinuities, and document all findings in accordance with approved standards.

Interpret test results and determine part disposition based on overhaul manuals or other approved data.

Generate sub‑routers and route parts for repair, rework, and re‑inspection as needed.

Complete all required records, paperwork, and inspection authorizations and release parts to subsequent operations.

Identify and report faulty operations, equipment issues, and nonconforming materials to supervision.

Maintain clean work areas and comply with all safety rules, regulations, and PPE requirements.

Provide training to personnel in inspection methodologies as directed.

Perform additional tasks as assigned by the Chief Inspector or Quality Manager.

Education & Experience

High School Diploma or GED.

Minimum 2 years of relevant experience.

Level II certification in at least one NDT method (UT, MT, PT, RT, or ET) in accordance with ASNT standards.

Participation in ongoing training related to advanced NDT techniques and technologies.

Due to ITAR requirements, all applicants must be U.S. residents or citizens.
