Essential Functions The Nurse Practitioner is a licensed independent practitioner who is responsible for managing health problems and coordinating health‑care for clinic patients in accordance with State and Federal rules and regulations and the nursing standards of care. This includes assessment of health status, diagnosis, development of a plan of care and treatment, implementation of the treatment plan, and evaluation of patient status. Clinical management is conducted in collaboration with other health‑care team members under a practice protocol with a licensed medical doctor.

Duties and Responsibilities

Functions independently to perform an age‑appropriate history and physical for clinic patients.

Orders and interprets diagnostic and therapeutic tests relative to the patient’s age‑specific needs.

Prescribes appropriate pharmacologic and non‑pharmacologic treatment modalities.

Implements interventions to support the patient to regain or maintain physiologic stability, including but not limited to serving in the first assisting role.

Monitors the effectiveness of interventions.

Collaborates with multidisciplinary team members by making appropriate referrals.

Facilitates staff, patient, and family decision‑making by providing educational tools and patient engagement.

Qualifications/Requirements

Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.

Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner Program.

Current Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner (ARNP) licensure.

Current provider card in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), preferred.

Current Nurse Practitioner certification in Family Medicine, preferred.

Strong computer skills, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Working Conditions General office working conditions.

Frequent travel up to several hours of driving per day and occasional overnight travel will be required. Manual dexterity to use a desktop computer and peripherals is necessary. Exposure to variable weather conditions is likely.

Work Environment The noise level is usually moderate. Work environment characteristics require the employee to be able to work in typical office settings, handle patient care duties, and interact with the health‑care team.

Travel Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out‑of‑area and overnight travel may be expected.
