IMEG is seeking a
Senior Structural Engineer
specializing in
Facility Performance
to join our team in Dallas, Texas. In this role, you will lead large and highly complex structural engineering projects, providing project management, technical direction, and innovative solutions for building and facility performance. You'll collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, mentor junior staff, and ensure the delivery of high-quality, code-compliant structural systems for a variety of facility types. Principal Responsibilities
Lead design efforts for the analysis of structural systems, utilizing engineering software and tools to create detailed designs, specifications, and calculations according to code requirements and IMEG standards
Perform site assessments and generate detailed analysis and technical reports
Interact with clients to understand needs, gather project requirements, and communicate technical information effectively; build and maintain client relationships
Provide in-process design reviews of structural system design, calculations, specifications, and project correspondence; implement IMEG quality control processes to ensure compliance with quality and industry standards
Provide technical training and mentoring; assist in resolution of field issues with minimal support from senior staff
Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in structural engineering; contribute to research, development, and innovation efforts
Prioritize safety in all aspects of engineering work
Conduct oneself in an ethical and professional manner
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including engineers, architects, and project managers, to deliver integrated solutions
Participate in project interviews and presentations
Required Qualifications and Skills
Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Civil, Structural, or Architectural Engineering, or equivalent, required
Master's Degree (MS) in Structural Engineering preferred
Professional Engineer (PE) License required
10 years of experience minimum required, 12 preferred, in the building design consulting industry
Mastery of design techniques, tools, and concepts involved in the production of technical plans and specifications
Mastery of design techniques, tools, and concepts involved in the production of technical plans and specifications Mastery of technical and analytical skills including proficiency of principles in mechanics and materials, load paths, design techniques, design standards including steel, concrete, wood, masonry, and concepts involved in structural systems of buildings and structures
Strong training, mentoring and leadership skills
Ability to perform final quality control check in their area of expertise
Ability to sell work and develop client relationships
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; Ability to clearly communicate in both oral and written communication to individuals or groups
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and demonstrate effective team building skills
Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
Eagerness to adapt to new challenges
Proficient with MS Office Suite including but not limited to Word, Excel, and Outlook
Ability to travel up to 20% with occasional overnight stays
