Parker Meggitt, a recent addition to Parker Hannifin, is a global leader in the Commercial and Military Aerospace markets, specializing in a wide range of products including fire and smoke detection systems, extinguishing systems, bleed air overheat detection systems, actuators, rudder pedal assemblies, pumps, fuel gauging systems, and high‑temperature cables. Located in Simi Valley, CA, this site is within the Fire Safety & Power Systems Division (FSPSD) and is a key supplier in select energy markets, particularly in nuclear gas analyzers and nuclear containment vessel penetration cables. We work directly with some of the largest aerospace companies in the world, including Airbus, Boeing, Embraer, and Lockheed Martin, among others

Position Summary The individual will coordinate and oversee the daily operations of the production team, prioritizing tasks to maximize workflow and efficiency in a complex manufacturing environment. The individual implements the Parker Lean System and Win Strategy to ensure a safe work environment, maximize profitable growth, drive quality improvements, and provide premier customer service.

Responsibilities

Lead by example by ensuring all safety policies are followed to drive a zero accident culture

Lead a team of technicians while fostering a collaborative and high‑performing work culture

Drive quality standards throughout production to reduce rework, scrap and drive a zero defect culture

Provide a range of expertise in supporting and improving the manufacturing capabilities to produce products

Monitor production schedules, drive process improvements, ensure compliance with quality and safety standards, and train team members

Facilitate communication between shifts and collaborate with other departments to align production goals with broader business objectives

Support Value Stream Transformations through the use of the Parker Lean System and Value Stream Tracking Center

Transfer new products into production and continually look for ways to improve existing products from a “design for manufacturability” approach

Develop and deploy standardized work instructions to ensure consistency in processes

Understand key business drivers; use this understanding to accomplish own work

Solve problems in straightforward situations; analyze possible solutions using technical experience, judgment and precedents

Maintain consistent communication with team members ensuring that the weekly newsletters, events, trainings, etc. are properly communicated

Other responsibilities as assigned

Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance

Regular, consistent, and punctual attendance is required. May need to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) and additional hours as necessary

Qualifications

Education requirement:

must have a Bachelor’s Degree

in related discipline required

Experience: Minimum 3+ years of production supervisor experience, including experience leading and managing a teams.

Required skills

Excellent ability to apply a systematic and analytical approach to problem‑solving

Possess the ability to identify cost and time savings

Can develop team performance metrics independently

Ability to collaborate cross‑functionally to solve problems independently

Ability to plan, set priorities for the team and direct technical efforts to meet business objectives

Advanced knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement

Ability to explain a range of complex technical information

Effective interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills to drive tasks to completion

Proficient in Microsoft Office and enterprise resource management tools (SAP preferred)
