People Operations Partner (HR Business Partner)
Location:
Denver, CO (Hybrid – In office Tues/Wed/Thurs)
Schedule:
Full-time, 40 hours/week
Compensation:
$40–$55/hour (contract); eligible for 10% bonus upon conversion

About the Role
We are seeking a People Operations Partner who thrives in a fast‑paced, scaling environment and is comfortable operating in the grey. This role will begin with a strong focus on HR operations—particularly supporting and optimizing UKG, which has just been implemented. Over the first 6 months, this role will transition into a more strategic HR Business Partner (HRBP) capacity as the organization and People team continue to grow.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone coming from an HRBP, HR Generalist, or HR Manager background—especially those who have served as a department of one or worked in small to mid‑sized organizations.
What You’ll Do HR Operations (first 6 months – approx. 60%)
Serve as the UKG subject‑matter expert (SME)
Support the completion of the UKG implementation
Manage all day‑to‑day HRIS operations
Administer payroll processing within UKG (automated, intuitive system)
Handle benefits administration, including open enrollment, enrollments/changes, and vendor coordination
Support transition wrap‑up from prior systems (ex: HR/payroll provider, 401(k) migration)
Maintain accurate employee data and support compliance across multiple states
Track LOAs and coordinate with external leave administrators
Manage timecards and ensure accuracy for payroll cycles
People Partner Responsibilities (will increase to 60% over time)
Serve as the HR point of contact for employees
Support employee relations matters—primarily performance‑ or metrics‑based issues
Coach managers on performance management and communication best practices
Support execution of strategic HR initiatives led by the Head of HR
Provide data‑driven insights using HR metrics (turnover, engagement, performance trends)
Contribute to process improvement and people‑focused initiatives
Who You Are Required Experience
5+ years of broad HR experience within a small to mid‑sized organization
Experience working in a fast‑paced, high‑growth, or start‑up environment
Hands‑on experience with:
UKG (required)
Payroll processing
Benefits administration
Employee relations
Ability to operate independently, pivot quickly, and wear multiple hats
Strong customer service orientation—approachable, responsive, and solutions‑focused
Comfortable with ambiguity and building processes from the ground up
Nice to Have
Background in industries with white‑collar or metrics‑driven performance environments
Experience in insurance, financial services, or similarly regulated industries
Work Environment & Expectations
Must be able to sit for extended periods and work effectively using virtual tools
Occasional travel may be required
Must be able to uphold strict confidentiality and act with discretion
