Practice Overview The Private Capital and Value Creation team supports private equity investors throughout the entire deal lifecycle—from opportunity identification, through due diligence, to post‑transaction value realization. Leveraging deep industry knowledge and functional expertise, the team drives breakthrough revenue and margin improvement across industries.

Role: Engagement Manager / Principal

About the Role As an Engagement Manager (or Principal), you will lead project teams in post‑deal value creation efforts and pricing/GTM due diligence activities. Key responsibilities include:

Leading teams of consultants on pricing, sales, and marketing topics; developing hypotheses, managing data collection, creating models, conducting research, and surfacing insights.

Guiding the consulting team through hypothesis development, client information review, interview execution, insight generation, and deliverable production.

Synthesizing findings into written presentations; reviewing and discussing with clients and stakeholders.

Coaching and mentoring junior team members, and supporting Partners with project planning, workflow management, and career development.

Cultivating strong client relationships, presenting to senior audiences, and engaging C‑Suite executives.

Communicating issues and solutions in both formal and informal settings, written and verbal.

Applying best practices and firm technical competencies to deliver successful projects.

Guiding and influencing client and team thinking, and contributing to business development efforts, including proposals and pitches.

Guiding clients through implementation and change management to ensure adoption and measurable impact of new commercial strategies and tools.

Desired Skills and Experience

Engagement Manager: 5–8+ years of relevant experience, ideally in management consulting, focusing on top‑line growth strategy, pricing, and go‑to‑market strategy.

Principal: 8+ years in a senior role, preferably at a top‑tier strategy consulting firm.

In‑depth knowledge of pricing, sales, and marketing with experience in analytics‑driven approaches and commercial effectiveness tools.

Solid understanding of private equity dynamics and operational frameworks.

Demonstrated ability to lead teams and collaborate in fast‑paced environments.

Strong analytical and strategic problem‑solving skills.

Exceptional verbal and written communication skills; experience presenting to senior leadership.

Willingness to travel as required.

Proven mentorship and team‑development skills, fostering an inclusive culture.

Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree (MBA or similar) preferred.

Additional Background on Our Team and Work

Commercial excellence engagements cover sales force optimization, pricing and packaging, marketing effectiveness, and new proposition development.

Engagements also enable organizations with tools and dashboards, technology assessments, commercial organization design, and change enablement.

Recent work includes redesigning SaaS pricing for a PE‑owned software player, rapid pricing diagnostics for a mortgage software company, renegotiating contracts for a B2B services firm, and leading a sales turnaround for an industrial gas supplier.

We invest in proprietary IP such as frameworks and white papers to advance client impact.
