Department Description The Burn Inpatient unit and Outpatient clinic at St. Francis provide care for patients undergoing intensive burn care, patients requiring complex medical management, as well as follow‑up management of burn care.
Required Qualifications
A minimum one year of recent experience working in Acute or Critical Care as a Physician Assistant
Demonstrated excellence in clinical practice, communication, case management, leadership/problem identification/resolution, and teaching
Flexibility to orient and work at all UCSF Medical Center locations
Preferred Qualifications
A minimum of 2 years of recent experience as an Inpatient Physician Assistant in an academic medical center
License/Certification
Active and current California Physician Assistant License (PA)
California driver’s license (CDL) if required for position
Current national board certification (NCCPA) by first day of work and maintain
Active DEA registration with Schedules 2, 2N, 3, 3N, 4, and 5 to a California address
Completion of an AAPA‑recognized graduate master’s degree program as a physician assistant
Submit enrollment with CMS Medicare and Medicaid through the credentialing process by first clinical day
Current AHA BLS
Current AHA ACLS
UCSF Medical Center and Campus requires certain healthcare providers to be credentialed. In most cases this is done through its Office of Medical Affairs & Governance (OMAG) prior to the first working day. Credentialing and approval of the Standardized Procedures takes between 60-90 days but can vary.
