Physician Assistant DIAG IMAGING MANAGEMENT Full Time

Job Summary UCSF's Pediatric Radiology Program includes the most advanced available imaging technologies in an environment that is safe and comfortable for children. We offer a full spectrum of imaging techniques for diagnoses and treatments, including X-rays, CT Scans, MRIs, ultrasound, nuclear medicine/molecular imaging scans, fluoroscopy, and image-guided interventional procedures. The imaging equipment is adapted for children and calibrated to obtain the best possible images at the safest possible dose.

Responsibilities

Assist in the performance of interventional radiology procedures including central line placements, drains, biopsies, embolization, and vascular access

Conduct pre-procedure evaluations, obtain informed consent, and ensure appropriate imaging and lab work are completed

Provide post-procedure care including monitoring, documentation, and coordination with inpatient teams

Participate in trauma response and emergent IR procedures as part of the hospital's rapid response team

Collaborate with radiologists and pediatric specialists to develop individualized treatment plans

Educate patients and families about procedures, recovery expectations, and follow-up care

Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record

Participate in quality improvement initiatives, research, and continuing education

The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy.

Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement.

The salary range for this position is $78.62 - $105.82 (Hourly Rate).

Required Qualifications

Graduation from a PA Program accredited by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the PA (ARC-PA).

Physician Assistant (less than five (5) years of experience as a PA):

One year of PA experience in interventional radiology (pediatric or adult) or a pediatric specialty.

Physician Assistant Senior (five (5) or more years of experience as a PA):

One year of PA experience in interventional radiology (pediatric or adult) or a pediatric specialty.

Preferred Qualifications

Two years or greater PA experience in interventional radiology within the past five years, including procedures and pre- and post-procedure evaluation and management

Experience with vascular access

Experience with fluoroscopy

Bilingual in Spanish

License/Certification

California Physician Assistant (PA) License without restriction

National Board Certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)

California Driver License (if required for position)

Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) Registration with Schedules 2, 2N, 3, 3N, 4, and 5 registered to a California address

American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

Additional required AHA certifications (such as ENLS): N/A

In most cases this is done through its Office of Medical Affairs & Governance (OMAG) prior to the first working day. Credentialing and approval of the Standardized Procedures takes between 60-90 days but can vary.
